Northern Zone had umpires at both the Lion Foundation Netball Championships and the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships.
Lion Foundation Netball Championships
This year we had 4 umpires at this national tournament, Tanya McCarthy(Waitakere), Matt Davis(ANC), Lisa Stallard(NNH) and Maru Delamere(Waitakere). All had a very successful week, umpiring well, receiving on going coaching and learning from this great experience. The Zone was very proud of all of their performances.
New Zealand Secondary School Championships
We had 3 umpires at this tournament, Zak Middleton(ANC), Cory Nicholls(NNH) and Amanda Thompson(ANC).
These umpires had a great week also which was capped by Cory Nichols receiving his NZB award and being appointed to the final. Congratulations Cory! Although Cory is now being coached at NNH his initial umpiring skills were gained at the Rodney Netball Centre, who I am sure are very proud to see him doing well.
