Netball Northern Zone is seeking an inspiring Coach Lead, responsible for leading the development of coaching in the Northern Zone. This role is based in Auckland, and is fixed term till November 2021 as cover for our current Lead who is taking an education sabbatical.
Netball Northern Zone is one of five Regional Sporting Organisations for netball in New Zealand. Our Zone reaches from Waiuku to the Far North and we work with over 33% of New Zealand’s netball playing population.
The Coach Lead contributes to the Northern Zone Community Netball Plan to:
- Lead the development and growth of the Coach Developer network across the Zone
- Increase the number and quality of coaches at all levels in the game
- Increase the engagement of coaches in the National Coach Development Framework
- Support netball centres in improving the capacity and capability of grassroots coaching through their Centre Coach Development Plan
- Support the Community Team in delivering value to grow and strengthen our Centres
- Manage the liaison and relationship with Netball NZ Community Coach Programme lead
Key Skills and Attributes required for this role include but are not limited to:
- Relevant coach qualification – Coach Developer experience would be an advantage
- Experience in developing and/or training coaches across all levels of the community game
- Understanding of Netball NZ’s coaching framework and philosophy
- Ability to build effective working relationships quickly across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads
The role is full-time with a significant amount of evening and weekend work, but offers a high degree of flexibility around working times and practices. The role does require travel across the Zone, primarily Auckland regional boundaries, and a vehicle for work purposes is part of the remuneration package.
