Eighteen coaches across our netball community have recently completed their Netball New Zealand Community Coach Award Level 1 and Level 2.
Spanning clubs from Netball North Harbour, Howick Pakuranga, Netball Waitakere, Auckland Netball Centre, and Waiuku Netball Centre, this group represents the backbone of what makes netball thrive at community level. These aren't just certificates; they're a reflection of real hours spent learning, reflecting, and showing up for their players.
Through the programme, coaches have sharpened their skills across player centered coaching, communication, skill development, and creating training environments that genuinely challenge and inspire. Level 2 graduates have gone even further, deepening their understanding of athlete development and reflective practice.
A special mention to Katharine Hamilton of Waiuku Netball Centre, who has achieved both Level 1 and Level 2, a fantastic commitment to her own growth as a coach.
What stands out about this cohort is the breadth of experience and background they bring. From first-time coaches finding their feet to experienced sideline leaders formalising their knowledge, each person has invested in becoming better, not for themselves, but for the players they serve.
Great coaching builds more than skills. It builds confidence, belonging, resilience, and a genuine love of the game. The ripple effect of that work is felt in every training session, every game day, and every player who walks away feeling supported and seen.
To all 18 coaches, congratulations, and thank you. We look forward to seeing the continued impact you make across our courts and communities.
