We are proud to announce and congratulate the following Northern Zone Centre leaders who have been selected to attend the upcoming three-day Residential, led by Sport New Zealand and supported by Netball New Zealand and the 5 netball Zones:
- Kerikeri Netball Centre – Sarah Couling
- Whangārei Netball Centre – Keri Clendon
- Netball Waitākere – Murray Gardiner
- Howick Pakuranga Netball Centre – Deearna Buxton
- Papakura Netball Centre – Heather Te Rure
This Residential is an exciting opportunity to invest in our Centre leaders and the future of our game. Over three days, participants will focus on developing their capability to lead participant-centred change – shaping how sport is delivered to better meet the needs of rangatahi, in particular. By moving away from one-size-fits-all approaches, leaders will explore new ways of creating inclusive, flexible, and developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage long-term participation and wellbeing.
Another important outcome of the Residential is strengthening connections across the netball and wider sport sector. Centre leaders will be supported to share ideas, collaborate on national and regional projects, and bring to life the Balance is Better philosophy through practical change in their own communities.
We’re excited to see the knowledge, skills, and confidence these leaders will bring back to their Centres and look forward to sharing an update from the Residential with our netball community in November.
