On Thursday, 10 July, the Mangawhai netball courts were alive with energy as 138 Tamariki and 10 dedicated coaches took part in the highly anticipated Mystics Masterclass Coaching Clinic, delivered by none other than netball legends Tia and Rob.
A total of 142 children and 15 coaches had originally booked and paid to attend. However, as is often the case in rural communities, winter illness, early calving, and last-minute work commitments meant that five coaches were unable to make it on the day. Despite this, the morning proved to be an outstanding success.
Feedback from those who attended was overwhelmingly positive. Coaches praised the session for being “short, sharp, and smart,” with clear, concise delivery and plenty of gold nuggets of knowledge to take away and apply.
One of the most valued aspects of the day was the opportunity for coaches to bring their children, who actively participated in the netball activities while the adults focused on professional development. This made the clinic not only more accessible but also more engaging and worthwhile.
"It was a wonderful morning of learning from the absolute best!" said one coach. The combination of hands-on learning, expert delivery, and a family-friendly setup made this masterclass a highlight of the season.
If July’s success is anything to go by, April 2026 is set to be even bigger. Mangawhai, get ready — the countdown is on!
