NetballSmart has been hard at work in the lead-up to the season, delivering workshops across a wide range of schools, centres, clubs, and teams. It has been a great opportunity to connect with so many players and help them get game-ready.
A key focus has been highlighting the importance of the NetballSmart dynamic warm-up. This is not something to rush through, it plays a crucial role in preparing the body for the demands of training and games, while also helping to reduce injury risk. Equally important is the strength component within the warm-up. These exercises are included for a reason, and consistently performing them helps build stability, control, and resilience on court. Skipping them means missing out on valuable long-term performance gains.
Alongside the physical preparation, NetballSmart has also been educating athletes on nutrition. Including how to fuel effectively for both trainings and game days, as well as how to balance busy schedules that include school, sport, extra-curricular commitments, and enough rest and recovery.
